In an age where so many are preoccupied with global issues of freedom, human rights, peace and religious intolerance, the Baha’i Faith and its teachings are more relevant than ever before. This volume combines comprehensive coverage of the Faith’s teachings, texts, practices, community life and organization, with images reflecting its rich architectural heritage and the international diversity of its members.

Paul Slaughter spent three years travelling around the world to capture the photographs for The Baha’i Faith in Words and Images, from remote tribes in Papua New Guinea to villages in the mountains of Peru, taking in every continent. Breathtaking photography and intelligent accompanying text are combined to produce a beautiful coffee-table book, and accessible introduction to one of the fastest-growing religions of today.

A beautifull and original illustrated guide to the Baha'i faith

This is a beautiful and well put-together book which offers a concise, but comprehensive introduction to the Baha'i faith. It is full of stunning photographs which complement the text and the whole package is easily-digestible. Highly recommended to those curious about the faith and its teachings, but also to those who want a book to show to friends and colleagues to introduce them to what the Baha'i faith is all about.

This is a beautiful book, with stunning photographs of Baha'i communities around the world as well as pictures of the Shrines at Haifa and various Baha'i temples world wide. The text is simple without being simplistic and offers a good over-view of Baha'i concepts such as harmony and unity. This would make a lovely gift and is also ideal as a gentle and inspiring introduction to the Baha'i faith.

This beautifully written and illustrated book provides a wonderful introduction to the Baha'i Faith and the Manifestation of God for our time, Baha'u'llah, after whom the newest of the world's religions is known. It does not replace John Esslemont's "Baha'u'llah and the New Era" but rather complements it. Thoroughly recommended.

This book encapsulates the main themes of the teachings and principles of the Baha'i Faith. It contains an easy to follow summary of the writings of the leading figures of the Faith, as well as an expression of the relevance of the teachings to modern society. There is also a clear historical layout which presents an important background understanding of the emergence of the Global Religion for this day and age. All of this is formatted together with gloriously vivid photography!Overall a perfect introduction for those who would like to delve deeper into understanding about the world unifying Faith!

This book sells very easily because of its very many, colourful andinteresting photographs and pictures. But the authors of its prose have done an amazing job in describing the fundamentaltenets of the Baha'i Faith using a new framework that is well suited for the modern timeswestern reader.I recommend this book to anyone interested in a clever introduction to the Baha'i Faith.

Interesting book, nicely illustrated and laid out, with a crescendo start of quotes by various world leaders and public figures about this emerging world religion. Quite recommendable for an overview of this faith, and well-digestible yet thought-provoking.
